How to Save a Trillion Dollars in Healthcare

In 2020, we predicted that our prior portfolio company Sidecar Health could eventually save $1 Trillion in Healthcare here and the company has been off to the races ever since.
βThe US spends $3.5 trillion dollars annually on healthcare, which comes out to $10,700 per person (CDC). The most dollars are spent on hospital care (33%), physician and clinical services (20%), prescription drugs (9.5%), and nursing and continued care (4.8%).
Part of the problem is cost. Healthcare is the only market in the country where the patient is unaware of the cost of service they are receiving.β
