Ian Heinrich
As Senior Associate on the investment team, Ian Heinrich is the engine behind Ensemble's data-driven investment pipeline. Beyond supporting due diligence and acting as the operational linchpin for Ensemble's underwriting, Ian also represents the bridge between machine learning and real-world venture capital––he is responsible for ensuring the investment team's feedback is correctly reflected in future model parameters.
Before joining Ensemble, Ian worked as an investor at Collaborative Fund, focusing on early-stage investments across the U.S. and Europe. His career began in management consulting, followed by a role as primary support to the CFO of Mercer. Ian earned a B.A. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Ian grew up in a conservation community outside of Chicago, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the natural world and a commitment to environmental justice. Reflecting these values, Ian serves on the board of the Harold M. and Adeline S. Morrison Family Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting environmental causes. He now resides in Manhattan with his wife and spends his free time exploring the outdoors whenever possible.
As a former standout soccer player, Ian had a stint playing soccer semi-professionally with the Baltimore Bohemians during college.
