Nesta Lenhert-Scholer

Founder and
Principal Software Engineer

Nesta Lenhert Scholer leads Ensemble VC’s back-end data infrastructure, powering the integration of cutting-edge datasets and technologies into Unity, the firm’s proprietary data platform. As the architect behind Ensemble’s data engine, Nesta drives innovation, operational efficiency, and the firm’s edge in data-driven venture capital.

Prior to joining Ensemble, Nesta earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Chicago, where he specialized in data analytics, cloud computing, and parallel programming. These skills are central to his work in designing and scaling Ensemble’s data platform. Earlier, he graduated with honors from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics, earning minors in mathematics and chemistry. At Baylor, he contributed to the Experimental High Energy Physics Group, helping build data storage platforms and conducting experiments related to the Large Hadron Collider. His academic achievements included being one of two students recognized by the Physics Department at Baylor’s Honors Convocation.

Nesta grew up in Abilene, TX, and spent summers in Greece, where he attended school for two years and became fluent in the language. His Greek roots also sparked his love for spearfishing, an activity he enjoys whenever he visits the islands, often spending hours exploring underwater caves and hunting fish beneath the surface. In his free time, Nesta can be found snowboarding, rock climbing, or solving Rubik’s cubes—a skill he’s mastered with a personal best time of 1 minute and 30 seconds.
